BH Cosmetics Galaxy Palette Tutorial- Star Child Eye Look

This week I decided to revisit some of my eye shadow palettes that have not received enough attention.  I came across my BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette that I purchased on sale back in December.  I forgot how truly awesome these eye shadows are.  The Palette comes in a compact case and a decent sized mirror.  The palette has 18 luxurious baked eye shadows that range from gorgeous neutrals to stunning pops of colors.  I like to use my MAC fix plus to amp up the pigmentation with the more colorful shades.  All of the eye shadows are pretty metallic and some have flecks of glitter, which I think are pretty.  If you purchase this palette, you will need to use some other eye shadows in your collection to create a completed look.  I use some of my matte eye shadows and lighter shades.  But this is a really great palette to get a number of fun looks.  The Galaxy Chic palette is currently out of stock on the BH Cosmetics website but you can have the company e-mail you when they restock.  Also, BH Comsetics has a number of sales every other week so the already very affordable price of $15.99 can be even lower. This is a fantastic and high quality palette.  I created a stunning eye shadow look with this palette.  If you want to recreate the look, just keep reading!

1.  Prime your eye.  Gently smooth your favorite eye primer on your eyelid to your brow bone.  I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Eden.

2.  Apply an eye shadow base to your entire eyelid.  Using a flat eye shadow brush, take a neutral eye shadow and apply it on your eyelid to your brow bone.  I like Urban Decay's Eye Shadow in Foxy.

3.  Apply Prometheus as your transition shade.  Take a clean blending brush and gently swipe in Prometheus.  Lightly apply Prometheus into your crease using a windshield wiper motion.

4.  Blend Aphrodite into your outer corner.  Using a pointed crease brush, dip into Aphrodite.  Be sure to tap off any excess eye shadow.  Apply Aprodite by gently pressing brush into the outer V of your eyelid in a small circular motion.  Take a clean blending brush and blend the upper portion of Aphrodite into your crease.

5.  Make your eyelids pop with Cosmic.  Dip an oval eye shadow brush in Cosmic.  Spray the eye shadow brush with Mac Fix Plus (or water) and gently press onto eyelid.

6.  Line your bottom lash line.  Take Prometheus with a smudge brush and line the bottom lash line.  Follow this by taking Aphrodite on a clean smudge brush and apply and blend on to the outer one-third bottom lash line.

7.  Define eyes.  Using a deep brown eyeliner, rim your bottom and upper lash line.  I like Mary

8.  Amp up the look with mascara.  Apply 2 coats of mascara with your favorite black mascara.  For this look, I used Tarte's ManEater Voluptuous mascara (upper lash) and Clique's Bottom lash mascara (lower lash).

Get the Look- Silver Bell Eyes Holiday Eye Shadow Tutorial

1) Prime your entire eye with Mary Kay Cosmetics Eye Primer ($12).  Take a small dot of Mary Kay Eye Primer on your ring finger and gently smooth on to brow bone and eyelid.  Let the primer absorb on the eyelid for about 10 seconds until putting on eye shadow.

2) Using your ring finger apply ColourPop Cosmetics Super Shock Eye Shadow in Glitterati ($5).  Gently swirl your ring finger into Gliterrati.  ColourPop's Super Shock Eye Shadows are very soft so you must do this carefully as not to dent the shadow and take out too much.  Glitterati is a stunning shade of metallic silver with flecks of gold.  We are using the ring finger instead of an eye
shadow brush to create an intense eye color look.  Tap the eye color on your eyelid, into the crease, and slightly above the crease.  If you need it, go back into Glitterati and pick up more color.

3) Line lower eyelash in Glitterati.  Take a liner brush and dip into Glitterati and slowly apply along the lower eyelash.

4)  Highlight brow bone in Foxy Eye Shadow ($19) by Urban Decay.  Foxy is a great neutral shade to highlight your brow bone for a number of eye cosmetic looks.  Use a flat shader brush to apply an even layer of Foxy on the brow bone.


5) Define eyelash lines using SmashBox's Always Sharp WaterProof Kohl Eyeliner in Raven ($21).  This is one of my favorite eyeliners.  As the name implies, this liner is always sharp and always on the mark.  Great for lining your waterline.  Use Raven to line upper and lower eyelash lines.  You won't be disappointed.

6)  Apply 2 coats of mascara to upper and bottom eyelashes.  Amp up the volume with Mary Kay's Lash Intensity mascara ($18; apply to upper eylashes only).  Allow upper eyelashes to dry in between coating 10 seconds and before applying mascara to the bottom lashes.  Use Clinique's bottom lash ($11.50) to coat well, your bottom lashes.

7) Finish the look with a berry lipstick.  Take MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Plumful ($17) and apply on lips for a festive holiday look.  Gorgeous!

Get the Look- Sunny Pop Eye Shadow Tutorial

1.  Prime eyelids.  Using your ring finger, apply Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden ($20).

2.  Apply Mean as transition shade.  Take your blending brush and dip into Mean from the Full Spectrum palette.  Using a windshield wiper motion blend Mean into the crease of your eyelid.

3.  Blend Hatter into the crease.  Use a clean blending brush and apply Hatter to the outer end of your crease.

4.  Pack on Calavera to lid.  Take a small smudger brush and pack in Calavera color all over the eyelid.

5.  Blend colors together.  Create a seamless transition by blending colors together slowly with a clean blending brush.

6.  Define outer corner.  Take a small eyeliner brush and define the outer v of the eyelid with Midnight Blaze.  Blend color into the outer v with a clean blending brush.

8.  Highlight brow bone and inner corner of eye.  Use Urban Decay's Eyeshadow in Foxy to smooth out brow bone.  Using your pinky, gently tap on ColourPop's Highligter in Fanny Pack ($8.00).

7.  Define the eye.  Using ColourPop's Gel Eyeliner in Swerve ($5.00), line upper and lower lash lines.

8.  Amp up the drama with mascara.  Apply two coats of mascara both bottom and lower lashes with  Mary Kay's Lash Intensity ($18) and Clinique's Bottom Lash ($11.50).

Perfect Pair: BT Pick for Lip Liner and Lip Color

I recently found a lip liner and lip gloss combination that is completely amazing!  I wanted to share this dynamic duo with you for the month of October.  This lip shade goes perfectly with natural or high impact color eyeshadows.  The pink-nude lip shown was done by filling in the lips with ColourPop's lip pencil in Contempo ($5.00), dusty rose.  All of ColourPop's lip pencils are very pigmented and creamy.  Then Urban Decay's Revolution High-Color Lipgloss in Liar ($22.00), a medium pink-nude, was applied on top of contempo.  Try the look out and comment below to let me know what you think!

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies Tutorial- The Mary

This third tutorial for BH's Cosmetics Pride + Prejudice + Zombies ($12.50) is inspired by the third daughter of the Bennet Family, Mary.  The Mary is a soft, natural and sophisticated eye look. Let's get started (refer to the below pic for eyeshadow colors)!


1.  Prime eyelids and brow bone.  For this tutorial, I used Urban Decay's Original Primer Potion ($20.00).

2.  Apply highlighter shade.  Pat eyeshadow color 7 on brow bone and crease using a flat eyeshadow brush.

3.  Blend transition shade into crease.  Using a blending brush, apply eyeshadow color 4 into crease and lightly lift above the crease.

 4.  Define crease using the dark brown eyeshadow.  Take eyeshadow color 5 and apply to crease using a small smudge brush.  Take the blending brush and smooth out, 2 strokes using a windshield wiper motion.

5.  Apply a soft neutral color to the eyelid.  Tap and smooth on eyeshadow color 1 on eyelid using
the flat eyeshadow brush.

6.  Define the outer v using a surprise metallic brown.  Using a medium crease brush or angled eyeliner brush, apply eyeshadow color 6 to the outer V.  Gently blend eyeshadow using the blending brush.

7.  Line bottom eyelash line.  Smudge eyeshadow color 4 using the small crease brush.

8.  Gently tap on highlighter.  Tap highlighter (color 13) on the eyelid using the flat eyeshadow brush.

9.  Define eyes using a dark brown eyeliner.

10.  Swipe on mascara. Apply mascara to upper and lower eyelashes.

11.  Finish the look.  Using your blush brush, apply blush 14 to the hollows of cheeks.  Remove excess color, and use the brush to apply highlighter above the cheeks, the bridge or your nose, and the cupid's bow above your lips.  Put on a rich, neutral lip color.  I like CoverGirl's Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in Catour ($8.99).

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies Tutorial- The Elizabeth

This is the second tutorial for BH's Cosmetics Pride + Prejudice + Zombies TM Eye and Cheek Palette ( $12.50).  To view the first tutorial, The Jane, click HERE.  This look is inspired by the movie's and Jane Austen's most famous heroine, Elizabeth Bennet.  The Elizabeth is a sultry, witty, and sophisticated look that emphasizes all eye colors  Let's get started (refer to the below pic for eyeshadow colors)!

1.  Prime your eyelids.  As in The Jane, smooth eye primer all over eyelids.

2.  Apply highlighter shade to brow bone down to crease.  Using a flat shader brush, gently pat on eyeshadow color 1.

3.  Blend transition shade into crease.  Using a fluffy blender brush, smooth eyeshadow color 4 into crease.  Lightly bring the color up slightly above the crease.

4.  Define crease using a dark shade.  Apply the dark brown color, eyeshadow color 5, into the crease using a small crease brush.  Use the fluffy blending brush to smooth out the color in a windshield wiper motion.

5.  Pat on silver chrome color on eyelid.  Take a medium shader brush and dip it into eyeshadow color 11.  Gently pat the color onto the entire eyelid.  If fallout happens, use a large powder brush to remove the eyeshadow off cheek and underneath the eye.

6.  Define lower eyelash line.  Apply eyeshadow color 4 and blend onto the the lower eyelash line.

7.  Rim upper and lower eyelash lines with eyeliner.  I like Smashbox's Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Sumatra.

8.  Finish the look.  Use the same mascara as in The Jane.  Apply blush number 15 on apples of cheeks.  Gently blend highlighter number 13 above blush, on the bridge of your nose, and the cupid's bow above your lips.  Apply a pink-nude lipstick.  I like Mary Kay's Gel Semi Matte lipstick in Bashful You.

Pride + Prejudice + Zombies Tutorial- The Jane

This is the first of five eye tutorials for BH's cosmetics Pride + Prejudice + Zombies Eye and Cheek Palette ($12.50).  This eye tutorial looks is inspired by the movie's and Jane Austen's character Jane Bennet.  The Jane is a sweet, unassuming, and very feminine look-just like Jane herself.  Let's get started (refer to the below pic for eyeshadow colors)!

1.  Prime your eyelids and brow bone- I like Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden ($20.00).  It applies as a nude, matte shade to give your eyeshadow crease-free staying power for 24 hours.

2.  Apply highlighter shade- Using a flat eyeshadow brush, gently tap eyeshadow 7 to brow bone down to crease.

3.  Blend transition color-  Lightly tap a fluffy blending eyeshadow brush into eyeshadow 4 and apply to crease.  Blend the color slightly above the crease line.

4.  Use dark brown shade as the crease color- Take a crease brush and dip into eyeshadow 5 and apply directly into crease.  Use the blending eyeshadow brush to smooth out any harsh lines.  Do not overly blend.

5.  Apply blush over eyelid- Wipe the crease brush clean and use it to apply the warm blush (color 15) all over the eyelid.

6.  Enhance eye color with gold- Using a flat eyeshadow brush, lightly apply eyeshadow 2 on eyelid.  Also, apply eyeshadow 2 in the corner of your eyes (use pinkie finger).

7.  Waterline and tightline eyes with black eyeliner- I like Smashbox's Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Raven ($21.00).

8.  Boost lashes with mascara- I use Maybelline's Volum' Express The Rocket Waterproof Mascara ($6.99) for my upper lashes and Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara ($11.50) for lower lashes.

9.  Finish the look- Use blush in shade 14 on apples of cheeks.  And highligher in shade 13 above blush and the high points of your face.  A glossy lip color will tie the look together.  I like Mary Kay's Nourishine in Fancy Nancy ($15.00).
